Aerotek Warehouse Worker in Council Bluffs, Iowa

Warehouse Material Handler

$18-$20/hr

Job Description

The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for operating power industrial trucks and machinery to transport products, materials, and supplies across various locations within the warehouse. This role involves loading items onto trucks, shelves, racks, and pallets using both stand up and sit down forklifts. Candidates will be interviewed at the distribution center, located across from the main plant.

Responsibilities

  • Operate stand up and sit down forklifts to move and organize materials.

  • Load and unload items onto trucks, shelves, racks, and pallets.

  • Utilize RF scanners for inventory and order picking.

  • Handle materials and conduct general labor tasks as needed.

  • Ensure inventory accuracy and efficient material handling.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience with stand up or sit down forklifts.

  • Ability to lift up to 75+ lbs.

  • Basic math skills for inventory and order calculations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in general labor and production environments.

  • Proficiency with RF scanners for inventory management.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing and production environment, with potential exposure to high and precarious places, moving machinery, and significant changes in temperature and humidity. The atmosphere can be loud, with dust, odors, and fumes present. The facility operates under various shifts: A/B Shift from 6:45 AM to 6:45 PM, C/D Shift from 6:45 PM to 6:45 AM, and packaging shifts covering days, mids, and nights. The environment is not climate controlled, which means it is very hot in the summer and normal in winter. Steel toe footwear is required, and employees can wear jeans or shorts.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Council Bluffs, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.00/hr.
