Backend Developer (SQL‑Focused)
Location: Southern California (Hybrid/Onsite as required)

What You’ll Be Doing
Designing, developing, and optimizing complex SQL solutions in high‑volume, performance‑critical systems
Diagnosing and resolving database performance bottlenecks
Writing and maintaining advanced stored procedures and data workflows
Partnering closely with engineers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
Supporting and enhancing data‑intensive backend applications that serve large user populations
Required Skills & Experience
Advanced SQL expertise (mandatory)
Hands‑on experience beyond basic query writing
Proven ability to optimize queries and improve performance
Strong understanding of data structures and execution plans
Experience building and maintaining advanced stored procedures
SSIS or comparable ETL experience
Ability to clearly explain technical decisions, tradeoffs, and outcomes
Nice to Have (Not Required)
Legacy VB.NET experience
General .NET exposure (strong SQL candidates will be considered even without a .NET experience)

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Costa Mesa, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $63.00/hr.
