Robert Half Legal Secretary in Costa Mesa, California
Description We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our team on a short-term contract basis in Costa Mesa, California. This role involves providing critical support to a fast-paced Construction Defect practice during a period of increased workload. The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background and be able to manage multiple tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, draft, and format legal documents and motions in compliance with court requirements.
• Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and court schedules to ensure timely filings and appearances.
• Oversee the service and filing of legal documents, including e-filing and court filings.
• Maintain well-organized electronic and physical case files for easy access and retrieval.
• Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys and paralegals to facilitate smooth case management.
• Coordinate schedules and prioritize tasks in a high-volume environment.
• Assist with documentation related to construction defect cases and other legal matters as needed.
• Ensure all tasks are completed accurately and within tight deadlines. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably with a background in Personal Injury law.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, including formatting legal documents.
• Familiarity with e-filing and court filing procedures.
• Ability to manage a high-volume desk with multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience drafting motions and servicing legal documents.
• Prior exposure to construction defect cases is preferred.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
