Job description:

This is an R&D Reliability Engineering position within HP's Liquid Cool Solutions (LCS) business. This position will work as a contributor to a diverse technical background of reliability engineers collectively focused on delivering robust reliability solutions that will effectively satisfy customer requirements. As a new R&D reliability engineer, you will support concept generation, testing, characterization, and demonstration of reliability for LCS products though problem solving, team interaction, and influencing.

What you will do:

We are interested in a team member with a technical academic background and interest in reliability engineering who can apply experimental techniques to solve complex materials and product development questions. It is expected that candidates for this position have a firm grasp of engineering principles in their discipline and can work with a team to apply these to solving new problems. The focus of this role will be to develop the knowledge of reliability solutions through mentorship and growing responsibilities. These positions are seeking candidates who exercise clear judgment, show creativity and are willing to stretch themselves in their own personal development.

The emphasis is on new products, reliability characterization, and materials development to meet the reliability requirements of our LCS portfolio. Our technology includes many complex materials, and design variables. This job involves the following:

  • Understanding and application of a broad range of reliability techniques to collect, understand, characterize, and improve upon design and materials used in our printing systems.

  • Work with team members to develop new reliability methods as required to probe for unknown issues, failure modes, and material reliability factors.

  • Collaboratively plan and coordinate testing to achieve required learning, feasibility, and margins proof.

  • Organize and interpret data for estimating time to failure of various materials, components, or joints.

  • Use technical judgement about the relative significance of test data from a series of tests

  • Deliver clear documentation, reporting and communication of your work.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor, Master or Doctor of Science degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or Chemistry, or related science.

Desirable skills are as follows:

  • Experience developing and testing products for a given application.

  • Basic knowledge in design of experiments and failure modes and effects analysis.

  • Good methodology to apply to planning and executing tests to determine the time to failure of the material or system of materials.

  • Foundational understanding in mechanical design and its impact on material and joint design.

  • Ability to broadly contribute in a fast-paced, industrial R&D environment.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to give clear and effective presentations to inform team members

The pay range for this role is $83,000 to $127,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
