Job Summary
The College of Education is seeking a Field Placement Coordinator. This is a part-time 0.50 FTE , 12-month, professional faculty position.
This position will be primarily responsible for the field placement coordination of practicum and internship experiences in the designated CACREP specialized practice area of Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The coordinator is responsible for responding to inquiries regarding practica and internship. The coordinator will also manage an online field experience software platform that all Counseling students use to enter completed hours and complete supervision assessments (i.e., MCoun Clinical Mental Health Counseling, MCoun School Counseling, and PhD Counseling students). The coordinator will be responsible for refining and managing current policy in accordance with legal guidelines related to field placements. The incumbent will assure that the programs are operating effectively and in alignment with accreditation body requirements, the Field Placement Coordinator works directly with the Counseling Program Chair, anticipates program needs, and manages program activity while attending to complex logistics and timelines. The coordinator is expected to act on issues related to program delivery and to communicate and collaborate with the Program Chair, counseling support staff, and faculty.
The Counseling Academic Unit in the College of Education offers a PhD degree in Counselor Education and an MCoun degree with options in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. The PhD and MCoun degree options at the Corvallis campus are hybrid programs via Ecampus with a balance of in-person and online instruction. The MCoun degree program is designed for individuals who want to help people through developmental and life challenges and provides theory- and evidenced-based practices to deliver professional counseling services. The program prepares individuals to work in schools, community agencies, treatment programs, clinical facilities providing mental health services, and private practice settings. The PhD degree is designed to prepare advanced counseling practitioners to work in higher education settings as instructors, counseling supervisors in various counseling settings, and leaders in professional organizations.
The Counseling Academic Unit in Corvallis strives to be a national and international leader in preparing counselors and counselors educators as change agents that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion. Using current professional standards, the Counseling Academic Unit in Corvallis at Oregon State University prepares professional counselors and counselor educators who promote the holistic wellness of individuals, families, communities, and organizations. These counselors and counselor educators are prepared to be change agents who are competent, ethical, and proactive in the face of injustice. We prepare counselors in antiracist practices to dismantle racism invariably tethered to other forms of oppression, such as genderism, sexism, classism, heterosexism, and ableism. Their work as counselors, supervisors, educators, researchers, and advocates demonstrates multicultural and diversity competence and a commitment to social justice.

What You Will Need
Master’s degree in counseling or closely related discipline
Experience supporting students through the process of developing and reflecting on their own identities and cultural experiences.
Evidence of training and experience in counseling supervision
Licensed or license eligible in Oregon (e.g., Licensed School Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor)
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
What We Would Like You to Have
Graduate of a counseling program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs ( CACREP )
Relevant counseling credentials (e.g., Board Certified Counselor [ NBCC ])
Experience supervising professional counselors
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Office space is available in Furman Hall at OSU’s Corvallis campus. Local travel to field placement sites in Oregon is required. Regular attendance at faculty and College meetings is required.
