Jacobs Entry Level Environmental Engineer - Corvallis, OR in Corvallis, Oregon
When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. We’re looking for an early-career Environmental Engineer or Scientist in the Corvallis, Oregon Jacobs office to perform laboratory treatability studies associated with site characterization and remediation projects for government and private-sector clients. These projects mimic real-world remediation treatments on the bench-top to provide inputs for full-scale treatment design. You’ll interact with Jacobs’ technical experts to develop field sampling and test plans then execute the tests, coordinating between project, analytical laboratory, and vendor groups to ensure high-quality delivery of test results. As data comes in, you’ll be the first to first to plot it up and see the story come together. You’ll showcase this work through project updates, technical reports, presentations, and sometimes a journal publication, each helping the engineering team to gain key insights for the design of a remedial strategy and strengthening the technical foundation of the company.

Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental studies, or other closely related field.
1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in a role with self-led research or consulting responsibilities
40-hr HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification
Valid drivers license is required.
United States Citizenship required.
Ideally you'll also have:
Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and in a regionally-diverse team environment
Strong attention to detail, organization, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to mentally walk through a process to identify and close gaps in written procedures for non-standard tasks to ensure all objectives will be met
Familiarity with standard environmental test methods and procedures
