CITY OF CORTEZ Lead Park Ranger in Cortez, Colorado
SUMMARY OF FUNCTION
The Lead Park Ranger serves on the Parks Division leadership team, led by the Parks Superintendent and supported by other Parks Workers. The team ensures the City's parks, facilities, trails, open spaces, lakes and ponds, and other landscaped areas are safe, clean, and green (well-maintained, usable, and aesthetically pleasing). The Lead Park Ranger coordinates the park ranger program and interacts with other departmental programs, police, and other public safety agencies. Lead Park Ranger encourages and promotes cleanliness, safety, and security in parks, open spaces, and recreation facilities. Engages with patrons, enforces City ordinances, and regularly patrols spaces to show a presence. Will serve as after-hours contact and may coordinate sports users, rentals, events, and other maintenance staff.
