Job Summary and Qualifications
The Supervisor performs procedures with guidelines established by this institution, the equipment manufacturer and/or radiation safety guidelines established by the Texas Department of Health. The Supervisor operates all X-ray or diagnostic equipment, CT scanners, is proficient with PACS, instructs patients about exams, provides education information to patients, prepares rooms for procedures, manages supplies, and medications. The Supervisor acts as a liaison for technologists, physicians, coworkers, patients and the Director of Radiology. She/He may be required to work in multiple areas of the Imaging Department (i.e., CT, MRI, X-ray). She/he will be required to understand and perform administrative tasks related to: Kronos, Facility Scheduler, PLUS, and DOR. The Supervisor will assume an authoritative role in the absence of the Manager. The Supervisor will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population. The Supervisor will be responsible for training, guiding and continued education of staff related to radiation safety and protection, under the supervision of the Manager/Radiology Director.

Reduces risk of acquiring or transmitting infection by learning and adhering to the established policy and procedure and communicating immediately all unsatisfactory incidents to infection control nurse/ Director
Leads in a way that inspires commitment to the vision/mission/values of the organization.
Delegates work appropriate to job classification with clear concise directions.
Supports the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
Functions as a resource person for staff members. Provides coaching, feedback, and training to improve performance and engagement.
Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommends and implements courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively superior organization.
Resolves and/or channels employee grievances, disputes, or concerns according to appropriate procedures. Escalates issues as needed.
Supports physician partnerships.
Represents the organization positively within the community; participates in company-supported community/patient events and in-services.
Supports and participates in the organizations’ Continuous Quality Improvement Program. Demonstrates participation in the Care Council.
Strives for ongoing self-improvement by achieving competency levels, providing feedback to assist in development, and using their time productively daily
Assists with staff scheduling. Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
