SUMMARY
The Assistant, Buying assists buyers in the daily activities of the merchandising department. Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices. Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future merchandise availability and prepares market analysis reports. Creates new styles and writes purchase orders for buyers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages order products in merchandising technology systems, adjusts ship windows, tracks cancel dates, confirms costs/retail, cancels orders per buyer's request. Tracks orders, contacts vendors, enters markups and markdowns, and performs other purchase order maintenance. Creates new styles for purchase orders.
Prepares and issues purchase order and change notices. Writes and prepares purchase orders.
Assists buyers, marketing business partners, and vendors on cost and creation of new advertising possibilities for the year.
Tracks all launch products and communicates across merchandise department, marketing, operations, warehouse and Ecommerce. Communicates any date changes.
Participates in weekly Ecommerce launch calls to stay informed and ensure successful launch.
Coordinates between the marketing and buying team assisting with season photo shoots and other deliverables to ensure that the products are presented in the best possible light, aligning with both the company's brand strategy and customer expectations.
Point of contact for district and regional managers to solve any issues with merchandise POS issues in stores.
Sends weekly selling reports to vendors, to ensure that both parties are informed and can collaborate effectively to meet consumer demand.
Manages all store communication, including situational emails, launch date changes/delays, AES, and new brand information.
Reviews order confirmation booking reports to ensure it matches in retail systems to maintain a reliable and efficient operation.
Protects the company's assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.

QUALIFICATIONS
Zero - two years of related experience.
Experience working for a retail company preferred.
Strong communication and attention to detail skills.
