Summary
As a Direct Care Worker at Peppermint Ridge, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents with disabilities. This position involves providing personalized care and support to help residents with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and well-being while fostering independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance residents' quality of life.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
- Monitor residents' health and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Assist with memory care techniques for residents experiencing cognitive challenges.
- Support residents in developing social skills and engaging in community activities.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare practices is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and assist residents with mobility as needed.
- Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities is a plus.
