ITW CNC Mill Set-Up Operator (Second Shift) in Corona, California
Job Description:
Brooks Instrument ( www.brooksinstrument.com ), an industry leader in flow and pressure instrumentation for critical applications, is seeking candidates for a CNC Mill Set-Up Operator position in the second shift that will be based at our manufacturing location in Corona, California. Along with this location, the company has their headquarters based in Hatfield, Pennsylvania (suburban Philadelphia) and has manufacturing locations in Hungary, Malaysia, and Korea. The company also maintains sales and service offices throughout the world. Our high-tech products are used in laboratory and process applications in end markets such as oil & gas, petrochemical, medical devices, wastewater, life sciences, and analytical instruments.

Basic Function
To operate Mill machines at first article proven stage to produce scheduled production rate.
Second Shift: 3:30pm-12:00am
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Must understand different types of machine controls and functions.
Must understand various type of work(material) holdings.
Must understand different types of materials.
Must understand various type of tool holdings.
Must understand various type of cutting cycles (milling, drilling, tapping, boring, thread milling and surfacing etc.).
Must have basic understanding about MACRO programs.
Must have complete understanding of PRE_LOADED work offset (G10 Lx)
Must have complete understanding of TOOL offset and WORK offset.
Must have knowledge of replacing cutting tools and setting proper tool offsets.
Must have advanced knowledge about G code and M code.
Must have advanced knowledge about different machining can cycles.
Must be able to identify NC programs that are currently in production.
Must understand advanced GDT and advanced blueprint reading.
Must be able to perform intermediate inspections with standard inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, pin gages, thread gages, height gages, optical comparator, bore gages, etc.).
Must be able to analyze CMM report and must be able to make adjustments to achieve manufacturing requirements.
Must be able to perform minor setup changes.
Must understand production related documents and update current (travelers, blueprints, tool maintenance log, daily production log).
Must perform required data logins to designated MRP(E2) system.
Maintains proper tank level and concentration of coolant.
Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department leads or supervisor
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
Performs job assignments in accordance with Job Travelers and work instructions.
Must submit a part to be inspected (in process inspection) per each shift that worked on.
Initial, stamp and date all documents as applicable
Education and Experience
Novice/Intermediate level:
Cutting tool knowledge
Knowledge of inspection skills
Knowledge of different CNC controls
Knowledge of different materials
Intermediate math skills
Blueprint reading
Knowledge of routing
Knowledgeable of the applicable QMS policies and procedures applicable to the position
Trained in the nonconforming material procedure

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to plant environment to include moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and/or caustic chemicals. Safety Glasses must be always worn.
The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Compensation Information:
Non-exempt: $26.28-$34.71
