CTG Mechanical Engineer III in Corning, New York
CTG’s long-standing Fortune 500 client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer III to support the design, installation, and startup of advanced manufacturing equipment. This is a hands-on, senior-level role ideal for engineers with strong mechanical design and troubleshooting expertise in industrial environments.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer III
Location: Corning, NY
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Corning, NY
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Technology required
Travel Requirements: Domestic travel up to 25% to vendor or plant sites
Immigration Status: Must be eligible to work in the US for minimum of 18 months
Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design of handling and process equipment from concept through deployment
Support installation, startup, and debugging of manufacturing equipment on-site
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, operations)
Verify equipment builds against engineering drawings and specifications
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and installation issues in real time
Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure successful equipment delivery and setup
Ensure compliance with safety standards, including OSHA and machine guarding
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of mechanical equipment design experience in manufacturing environments
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks
Experience with structural FEA analysis
Proven ability to design, install, and debug complex mechanical systems
Hands-on experience supporting equipment commissioning and startup
Knowledge of industrial safety standards and machine guarding
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Qualifications
Ability to work independently and develop effective engineering solutions
Experience managing or coordinating with mechanical and electrical trades
