Senior Finance Analyst EU – OPEX Budget Management
Hybrid role - 2 - 3 days on site at either our Cork or Paris office.
Position Summary
The Senior Finance Analyst will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the company’s Operating Expenses (OPEX) and Marketing Communications (Marcom) budgets. This position partners closely with Marketing, Categories, HR, Regional and Corporate Finance leadership to provide financial insights, deliver accurate forecasts, and support strategic decision‑making. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, financial rigor, and business partnering experience with a deep understanding of expense management and ROI‑driven budget allocation.
Key Responsibilities:
OPEX Management
Own the end-to-end planning, forecasting, and monitoring of Operating Expenses (OPEX) across assigned departments, ensuring forecasts are data-driven, realistic, and continuously updated based on latest business performance.
Deliver in-depth monthly variance analysis of OPEX , clearly identifying drivers, underlying assumptions, and risks, while proactively highlighting opportunities for cost optimization and forecast accuracy improvements.
Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights , enabling business leaders and Finance leadership to make informed decisions grounded in reliable and forward-looking financial projections.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data by rigorously validating expense allocations, accruals, and accounting entries, maintaining full compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
Support and enhance long-range financial planning , as well as quarterly and annual budgeting cycles, by building robust forecasting models, challenging assumptions, and improving predictability of OPEX evolution.
Marcom Budget Management
Oversee end‑to‑end financial management of Marketing & Communications budgets.
Partner with Marketing teams to develop annual/quarterly budget plans, track campaign spend, and assess financial performance.
Evaluate ROI of marketing initiatives, providing recommendations for improved efficiency and impact.
Ensure all marketing spend is accurately recorded, aligned with strategic priorities, and adheres to financial policies.
Manage agency spend, Contractual partnership contracts, and purchase order processes from a financial standpoint.
Business Partnering & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Act as a trusted advisor to Marketing and Operations leaders.
Translate financial insights into business recommendations that support growth and cost efficiency.
Facilitate cross‑functional budget reviews and performance updates.
Collaborate with Marketing, FP&A and other relevant stakeholders to drive financial discipline.
Reporting & Analysis
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, scenario planning, and decision frameworks.
Identify process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy, speed, and automation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (MBA or professional certification such as CPA/CMA a plus).
3-5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or related roles.
Strong expertise in OPEX management and familiarity with marketing budget structures.
Advanced Google Sheets and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP and planning tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Anaplan).
Excellent communication skills with proven ability to influence stakeholders.
Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and provide clear recommendations.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting Marketing or Communications teams.
Knowledge of ROI and performance measurement frameworks for marketing spend.
Ability to simplify complex financial topics for non‑finance audiences.
Comfortable working in a dynamic, cross‑functional environment.
Ability to quickly adapt to change.
