Job Description Summary
As the Engineering Systems Team Leader, you'll be responsible for managing the Maintenance function across the site’s production platform. This role provides leadership, coordination, and oversight of all production plant maintenance activities and associated staff. The key objective is to maximise equipment performance and ensure the reliable and efficient delivery of all site critical utilities. These activities must be executed in full compliance with GMP standards to support optimal manufacturing output for the site.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Maintenance & Reliability Leadership
Lead and coordinate all planned and unplanned maintenance activities across the production platform.
Maximise equipment uptime and ensure full adherence to production schedules.
Develop and implement equipment‑specific reliability and maintenance strategies, including predictive, preventive, and condition‑based maintenance.
Drive a best‑in‑class reliability programme incorporating equipment criticality analysis, spares strategy, RCA, and FMEA.
Own the performance, development, and optimisation of the CMMS as the central system for asset management.
Ensure maintenance activities support long‑term asset health, lifecycle planning, and sustainable equipment performance.
Monitor and improve maintenance KPIs including PM/Calibration Compliance, Schedule Attainment, Backlog, Labour Utilisation, and OEE‑related measures.
Manage contractors, service providers, and spare‑parts budgets in line with reliability and operational priorities.
Compliance, Quality & Environmental Health & Safety
Ensure all maintenance and engineering activities meet GMP, Quality, and regulatory expectations.
Embed a strong safety culture by enforcing EHS standards, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
Lead and support investigations (CAPA, RCA), ensuring true root cause identification and sustainable corrective actions.
Ensure timely closure of EHS actions, ATS items, Concern Reports, Quality actions (TrackWise), and all team training.
Maintain high housekeeping and 6S standards across the engineering areas.
Ensure equipment technical files, logs, and records are complete, accurate, and always audit‑ready.
HR Leadership & People Development
Lead, mentor, and motivate the Maintenance Technician team aligned to GE Beliefs and site culture.
Deliver monthly 1:1s, coaching, performance reviews, and development conversations.
Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, and capability development of engineering talent.
Manage HR processes including training compliance, attendance systems, documentation, and COREHR approvals.
Communicate daily/weekly/monthly priorities clearly and consistently through structured team briefings.
Build strong collaboration across shifts and functions to support shared goals and issue resolution.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
Champion Lean, OEE improvement initiatives, and continuous improvement programmes.
Surface improvement ideas from the team and support the engineering suggestions scheme.
Drive initiatives that improve yield, equipment performance, and overall operational efficiency.
Follow through on open actions and investigation outcomes with urgency and accountability.
Lead a technician‑driven RCA culture to strengthen problem‑solving capability across the team.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering or equivalent.
Strong experience in a GMP-regulated environment in a process or equipment engineering role.
Qualification and practical experience in cleanroom technology.
Solid experience with utilities and production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Strong ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal guidance.
Demonstrated theoretical and practical engineering capability.
Relevant experience within a regulated industry and strong understanding of compliance requirements.
High level of computer literacy, including CMMS and maintenance-related systems.
