I Corbin, KYCritical Care is a 10-bed unit providing critical care for patients with both medical and surgical diagnosis.Performs care requires substantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological, physical and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards.Job Description:Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. Under general supervision, provides professional nursing services and patient care in a variety of settings. Follows established nursing process, including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Ensures adherence to hospital and department policies, and nursing procedures, standards, and practices. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity.- Assessment and identification of patient needs and implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service.- Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision; establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently.- Has access to medication storage areas as required for job tasks.
