Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned leader to oversee large-scale transportation infrastructure Design-Build projects from the bidding phase through final delivery. This role requires extensive experience in Design-Build, strong multi-disciplinary team management, and the ability to ensure smooth collaboration between design and construction. As a Senior Project Manager of Transportation at TYLin, you will be instrumental in advancing our Design-Build business, understanding client processes, and fostering strong relationships across all organizational levels.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
In this role, you will:
Lead the overall coordination and delivery of complex alternative delivery projects, including Design-Build and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects
Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, owners, and project stakeholders
Direct multi-discipline teams in high-intensity, often multi-office, project environments
Collaborate with project controls and scheduling staff to track performance, analyze Earned Value and schedules, and ensure projects meet objectives on time and within budget
Oversee quality control, client interactions, staffing efficiency, contract management, billing, and project profitability
Plan project staffing for each phase and coordinate the recruitment or assignment of personnel
Manage activities of Project Engineers and technical staff to keep projects on schedule and budget
Represent TYLin’s alternative delivery expertise in targeted markets and at industry events
Review and confirm financial and schedule plans for design and construction across all disciplines
Ensure adherence to contract agreements, cost controls, and approved designs
Lead and coordinate complex projects, interpreting and executing assignments efficiently
Collaborate with internal teams, clients, regulatory agencies, and other professional partners
Attend meetings, make presentations, and respond to inquiries as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
15+ years of experience managing complex, multi-discipline highway design projects, including Design-Build or PPP projects
Experience with alternative delivery transportation projects exceeding $250M in construction value
Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in Florida, Georgia, or Texas, or ability to obtain within 6 months
Preferred experience with Design-Build projects in Arizona, Florida, Chicago, and/or Texas
Willingness to travel
