The Department of Psychology, within the College of Arts & Sciences, is seeking a full-time Post Doctoral Fellow reporting to Dr. Brian Doss, Professor and Director of the OurRelationship project. OurRelationship (www.OurRelationship.com) is app- and coach-delivered service to help couples struggling with relationship problems. The project has been ongoing since 2010 and has served over 10,000 couples.

The Fellow will fill two primary responsibilities: 1) Research publication and grant writing as well as 2) Project management. Data sets involving thousands of people, randomized designs, and longitudinal data are available and ready for publication. Additionally, the Fellow will collaborate on grant applications to tailor the program to different populations and technologies. The primary project management roles will involve working with external vendors to develop a reactive native app, customized AI chatbot, and other updates to program functionality. The Fellow will also serve as the central hub for various operational, personnel, programmatic, and financial matters for the project.

Successful candidates will possess an ability to relate and communicate with diverse population and groups, as well as multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure while being resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise. The primary work location of this position is on the Gables campus in the Department of Psychology.

  • Conducts research on specific areas of study as assigned.

  • Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.

  • Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.

  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.

  • Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

    Department Specific Qualifications

Education:

PhD in Psychology, Computer Science, or related fields

Certification and Licensing:

None

Experience:

· Experience managing large-scale research projects is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Familiarity with digital mental health or wellness interventions is preferred.

  • Experience with advanced statistical methods is required, with skills in multilevel and longitudinal analyses preferred.
