Job Title: CNC Machinist and Programmer
Job Description
Join a team with over 40 years of experience in manufacturing high complexity precision metal and plastic components. Our extensive CNC Machining Capabilities range from turning to vertical and horizontal milling, as well as 5 and 7 axis machining on state-of-the-art equipment.
Work Environment
Work in a clean, modern, and climate-controlled environment with a team of approximately 45 employees across 3 shifts. The facility is reasonably accessible by transit, though driving is preferred. Enjoy a lunchroom and provided uniforms. Operate in a single expanding facility, initially 18,000 sq ft, expanding to approximately 30,000 sq ft. Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate CNC 5-Axis and horizontal milling centers.
Take parts from drawing to finished component, handling all programming, setting, and new-part prove-outs.
Use GibbsCam to create efficient tool paths (willing to train on GibbsCam).
Create detailed setup instructions in ProShop ERP.
Machine multiple material types including aluminum, steel, stainless, titanium, plastics, brass, and exotics.
Inspect parts and record measurements in ERP.
Maintain workspace and perform basic machine maintenance.
Work closely with machinists/operators in the cell.
Lead a cell of 2 machines initially, growing to 3 machines over time.
Essential Skills
2–3+ years of 5-axis CNC programming and setup experience.
Ability to hit tight tolerances (microns to 0.005”).
Capability to program brand-new parts independently.
Strong blueprint reading skills.
Good written and verbal communication.
Experience machining multiple materials.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with horizontal milling setup/programming.
GibbsCam experience.
Leadership experience (mentoring, cell supervision).
Open to overseas candidates with 2+ years left on permit.
