Job Description
Fluor Corporation has established a Technology Hub in Copenhagen to service the Nordic countries. Our office in Portland Towers is brand new and we are hiring some of the brightest professionals who take pride in delivering top-notch services and solutions to our clients.
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Structural Design Engineer to join our team. This position serves as an Area Lead or Project Lead on assigned projects, performing complex engineering tasks and applying advanced techniques across a wide range of challenging assignments. This role is part of the Advanced Technology & Life Sciences Division. The project types include but, are not limited to: Advanced Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Food, Semiconductor, Data Centers, and EV Batteries.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and review cost estimates, project schedules, and progress reports, including workforce forecasts
Establish, track, and monitor key material quantities; provide detailed analyses and forecasts
Develop and review technical specifications, including design criteria
Participate in procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities related to equipment and materials
Perform and verify complex engineering calculations and resolve advanced technical challenges
Support project change management processes
Contribute to team development through mentoring, training material preparation, conducting seminars, and providing performance feedback
Basic Job Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience
Degree in structural engineering
Strong communication skills across diverse audiences
Knowledge of applicable local, regional, and national regulations, including Danish Building Regulations
High attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under time constraints
Advanced knowledge of discipline-specific codes and standards, material availability, and cost considerations
Experience in effort-hour estimating and workforce planning
Proven ability to manage and lead large-scale projects
Experience in project initiation, schedule development, progress tracking, and close-out
English Language is mandatory and Danish is preferred.
Experience in Advanced Technology & Life Sciences (Pharma, Biotechnology, Data Centres, Batteries, Semi-Conductors)
Professional engineering registration in Denmark (Preferred)
Work permit in EU
Other Job Requirements
Structural Engineering Expertise
Perform and verify complex structural calculations
Analyze complex structures, including wind, snow, and seismic load considerations
Conduct computer-based modeling and structural analysis
Review vendor and fabrication drawings; coordinate with other disciplines to ensure design compliance and resolve discrepancies
Apply relevant building codes and standards specific to the project location
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in Autodesk Robot and SCIA Engineer software for structural analysis
Experience with dynamic analysis and design is a strong asset
Professional engineering registration in Denmark
