What you'll do
Under the leadership of the Supervisor of Medical Imaging and working at the direction of the Radiology Manager, the MRI Tech I provides prompt, efficient, courteous services to patients while taking high-quality radiographs. This individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. They must also have the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements and provide the care needed.
To provide high quality test results in a prompt and accurate fashion
Complies with the job description of the Diagnostic X-ray Technologist II as necessary
Ensures that patient information is acceptable (Order for Exam and Lab work)
Properly positions patient and makes patient comfortable
Images the patient according to approved MRI protocols 1
Reviews images and sends to PACS for interpretation
Closes exam in EPIC/PACS
Prepares, identifies and/or administers medication as prescribed by a licensed practitioner when applicable.
Transports patients to and from the room when required as noted by leadership
Provide a safe environment to our patients
Explains all procedures to patients and answers any questions or concerns regarding the test
Properly screens the patient (reviews medical history)
Performs clinical pause before starting each exam
Ensures that the room is clean and ready for patients both before and after an exam
Maintains adequate level of inventory in all rooms within diagnostic Radiology
Restocks supplies within rooms as observed by leadership
Cleans and organizes CT Scan room after patient use as observed by leadership
Reviews and completes the daily checklists for safe patient care and regulatory readiness
Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops
Maintains competence through continuing education
Maintains appropriate continuing education credits to keep up licensure
Attends the necessary meetings to keep up with changes within the department
Attends monthly department meetings 90-95% of the time as recorded in the meeting minutes
Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed
What we need from you
Education:
Completion of a formal radiology technology training program in an AMA approved school, required
Experience:
Clinical experience within Radiology, preferred
New graduates welcome
License/Certification:
NYS Temporary Permit/ License required within 180 days from date of hire
ARRT Registered as a Radiologic Technologist required within 180 days from date of hire
NYS Registered as a Radiologic Technologist required within 180 days from date of hire
BLS Certification, required
ARRT MRI Certification required within 2 years of hire/ within job role (career ladder promotion)

Physical Requirements:

Pay Range
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.
Pay Range Minimum:
USD $37.49/Hr.
Pay Range Maximum:
USD $56.24/Hr.
