JOB SUMMARY: Apply knowledge acquired in the classroom to assist the department with day-to-day food processing functions and the process of product development involving the manufacturing of liquid sauces and dressing type products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Work with assigned PD mentor to learn basic PD lab protocols and procedures.
• Weigh and prepare various sauces, salad dressings, sandwich spreads, shakes and smoothie syrups, etc. as assigned.
• Maintains accurate records and documentation of all tests (viscosity, brix, water activity, yields, for any product produced
• Work with Corporate Chef as available on internal customer presentations.
• Work with PD mentor to research, ideate, develop a product for a mock customer including support materials (potential menu gap analysis, menu placement ideas, etc.) then give an oral and visual presentation to PD and Sales
• Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to:
Education/Certification:
• Must have completed at least one year of college with a focus toward food science, manufacturing, culinary arts or a similar emphasis
