Senior Systems Administrator (hybrid)

We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support and maintain an environment centered on Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft 365. In this role, you will help ensure the availability, stability, and security of core systems, partner with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents and improve services and participate in an on-call rotation for incident management.
You will administer and optimize Active Directory, Azure-hosted servers, and Microsoft 365 services. You will monitor system health, automate repeatable tasks, and troubleshoot issues through to resolution while communicating clearly with stakeholders. You will also contribute to continuous infrastructure improvement by applying strong system engineering practices across Windows and Linux systems and by using tools such as Terraform in a Microsoft Azure environment.
To be successful, you should bring hands-on experience administering Active Directory, Azure, and Microsoft 365, along with strong troubleshooting skills and a track record of improving reliability through monitoring and automation. Experience supporting both Windows and Linux systems and using infrastructure-as-code (such as Terraform) is highly valued. This role is onsite in West Conshohocken, PA, on Tues/Wed/Thurs.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and maintain Active Directory infrastructure, including domain controllers, group policies, and user account management.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain servers hosted in Microsoft Azure, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
- Contribute to the stability and reliability of our systems by leveraging expertise in monitoring, automation, and administration of Windows and Linux systems using Terraform in a Microsoft Azure environment.
- Administer and support Azure Virtual Desktop (for developers and business personnel) Microsoft Office 365 services, including SharePoint, Teams, Exchange/Outlook, OneDrive, Forms, and Power Automate.
- Monitor system performance, proactively analyze logs, and implement necessary optimizations to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for incident management, responding to and resolving system-related incidents and service requests within defined SLAs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, implement, and upgrade system infrastructure components.
- Implement and maintain security measures, data protection, and disaster recovery solutions for the environment.
- Provide technical expertise, mentoring and guidance to internal teams and end-users on system related matters.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in system engineering, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Office 365.

- Adheres to and is responsible for abiding by all information security policies, processes, and/or activities.
- Reports security events or potential events or other security risks to the organization, to management.
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise monitoring and observability solutions across cloud environments.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Position Requirements: Education, Experience, and Skills
Minimum
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience and/or professional certification).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a System Engineer with expertise in Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Office 365 administration.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory infrastructure, including domain administration, group policies, and user/account management.
- Proactively and continuously identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to enhance the end-to-end user experience.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and requirements in a healthcare or similar environment.
- Experience with deploying and managing servers in Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines and networking configurations.
- Proficiency in managing Microsoft Office 365 services, such as SharePoint, Teams, Exchange/Outlook, OneDrive, Forms, and Power Automate.
- Strong familiarity with security best practices and data protection measures within Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience participating in on-call rotations for incident management.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex system environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred
- Relevant certifications such as MCSE, Azure, M365, Terraform, or related technologies.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration management.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments integrating on-premises and cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) methodologies and practices (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
- Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and services.
