Job Description
MONTGOMERY COUNTY YOUTH-SERVICE INC is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team. The role involves providing support, guidance, and supervision to the residents in our care, ensuring their well-being and safety at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Support: Monitor and oversee daily activities of residents, ensuring adherence to program guidelines and policies. Provide a supportive and structured environment that fosters personal growth and development.
Safety and Security: Maintain a safe and secure environment by conducting regular checks and ensuring all safety protocols are followed. Address and report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
Guidance and Mentoring: Serve as a role model and mentor to residents. Offer guidance and support to help them navigate personal challenges and achieve their individual goals.
Program Implementation: Assist in the development and implementation of individualized service plans. Facilitate group activities and workshops that promote life skills, social development, and educational advancement.
Conflict Resolution: Mediate and resolve conflicts among residents using effective communication and problem-solving skills. Encourage positive interactions and relationships.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely records of resident activities, incidents, and progress. Prepare reports as required by management.
Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members, counselors, and external partners to provide comprehensive support to residents. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the program.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with youth or in a residential setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
