Dean Custom Awnings Awning Frame Fabricator in Congers, New York
We are seeking a dependable Awning Frame Fabricator to support production operations in a shop environment. This role involves material preparation, frame fabrication, and equipment operation, including use of a table saw, punch press, pipe bender, and forklift. The position requires regular heavy lifting, adherence to workplace safety standards, accuracy in measurement, a commitment to quality, forethought for preparedness, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Measure, cut, and prepare materials for awning frame fabrication in accordance with job specifications. Safely operate a table saw, punch press, pipe bender, and other shop equipment. Operate a forklift to move materials, load/unload deliveries, and stage work areas (training provided). Assist with assembly of awning frames and related components. Maintain organized stock, including inventory tracking, labeling, and storage. Perform routine inspection of tools and equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns. Follow all company safety policies and applicable occupational safety standards. Work independently or collaboratively to meet production timelines.
Minimum Qualifications: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including measurements and fractions. Ability to safely operate or be trained to operate a table saw, punch press, pipe bender, and forklift. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Cooperative and respectful team member with good work ethics. Willing and available to work overtime in busy season. Ability to lift and carry up to 50-60 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods. Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required): Prior experience in fabrication, construction, or manufacturing. Willingness to learn welding. Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools. Ability to communicate in Spanish (spoken).
