The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Highway Design, has a full-time vacancy for a Highway Design Project Manager.
SUMMARY:
Manages and administers professional and technical personnel to design highway and bridge projects in accordance with the policies, goals and procedures of the Department of Transportation, Division of Project Development.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS:Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Masters degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering, or possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering and possession of a Master of Business Administration degree from an accredited institute of higher education
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in civil engineering post Professional Engineer licensure.
OR
Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering.
Experience: Five (5) years of experience in civil engineering post Professional Engineer licensure.
OR
Education: Associates degree from an accredited institute of higher education, with a major study in engineering or engineering technology.
Experience: Seven (7) years of experience in civil Engineering post Professional Engineer licensure.
License/Certification:
Professional Engineer (PE)0 Licensure with designation0 in Civil, Civil Highway, Geo Technical or Structural Engineering.
Valid drivers license or access to transportation
Other Requirements:Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the hiring agency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages multi-disciplined engineering teams during the design phase of highway and bridge projects to formulate a strategy that will ensure timely and coordinated project development.
- Represents the Department at public meetings, hearings, court actions and discussions with public officials, private individuals and other agencies to present, receive and evaluate information related to highway and bridge projects.
- Administers a reements with consulting engineering firms, including authorizing payments and negotiating fees for amended agreements, to ensure compliance with the provisions of the agreement.
- Represents Bureau Administrator or Chief Project Manager by serving in their absence to provide continual administrative and managerial coverage within the division of Project Development.
- Advises the Commissioners and Directors through special assignments and committee work in matters establishing department and division policies and programs.
- Conducts coordinating activities to ensure consistent interpretation and enactment of department policy.
- Advises the Bureau of Construction in the resolution of conflicts which arise during the construction phase of highway and bridge projects to ensure compatibility with commitments made during the design phase of the project.Seals and signs design documents in conformance with Departments policy.
