ManpowerGroup Onsite Refinery Controls Engineer in Concord, California
Our client, a leading organization in the industrial sector, is seeking an Onsite Refinery Controls Engineer to join their team. As an Onsite Refinery Controls Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting refinery operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, proactive communication, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: Onsite Refinery Controls Engineer
Location: Concord, California
Pay Range: $120,000 - $140,000K plus OT, benefits, bonus, etc.
What's the Job?
Maintain and support refinery PLC systems to ensure safe and reliable operation
Troubleshoot and resolve field issues in real time
Modify and update PLC logic to support operational and project-driven changes
Perform firmware updates and minor hardware upgrades on legacy systems
Support Management of Change (MOC) processes and ensure compliance with site standards
What's Needed?
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
3–7 years of relevant experience in control systems engineering
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, SLC, PLC-5) – required
Ability to interpret P&IDs, logic diagrams, cause/effect matrices, and functional narratives
Strong troubleshooting ability in active industrial environments
