Position Summary:
This role is responsible for performing precision machining, supporting tooling development, and troubleshooting mechanical issues across manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong machining fundamentals, capable of working independently while supporting cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Machining & Fabrication
Set up and operate manual and CNC equipment, including lathes, mills, and drills
Perform precision machining on a variety of materials to tight tolerances
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Prepare layouts, tooling, jigs, and fixtures as needed
Load and run CNC programs
Engineering & Production Support
Support engineering and manufacturing teams in developing tooling, fixtures, and workstation improvements
Fabricate, modify, and repair production parts and tooling
Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams on fabrication solutions
Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement
Troubleshoot mechanical and production issues impacting throughput
Resolve out-of-spec conditions and workstation-related problems
Contribute to process improvements for productivity, safety, and efficiency
Assist in developing procedures where needed
Quality & Inspection
Use precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
Ensure all work meets required specifications and tolerances
Support AS9100 or similar quality system requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Experience with manual machining and CNC equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Proficiency with precision measuring tools
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
CNC programming experience
Experience with aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing
Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems
Traditional machining experience (manual machining depth)
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Compensation: The hourly range for this role is $42 - $50 per hour, depending on experience.
