Job Description:

PURPOSE

The Senior Test Automation (TA) Engineer is a key technical leader who balances strategic initiatives with hands-on collaboration, splitting time between QA work and strategic TA. They propose new TA strategies via Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs). They are a primary mentor for other TA engineers and work closely with DevOps to ensure a stable and efficient CI/CD pipeline.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Own Full-Stack Quality: Independently own the end-to-end quality process for a feature team, including designing test strategies, executing manual tests, and leading the team's formal verification efforts.

  • Design and Implement Automation: Design and implement robust and maintainable automated tests for complex features. Submit all work for peer review via Pull Requests.

  • Mentor Junior Engineers: Begin to mentor junior team members on both testing fundamentals and automation best practices.

  • Contribute to Framework: Enhance and maintain the core test automation framework, improving its efficiency and capabilities.

  • Propose and Prove TA Strategy: Research and propose strategic automation initiatives, delivering well-structured Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) or Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to management.

  • Collaborate with DevOps: Partner directly with the DevOps team to debug CI/CD pipeline issues and configure AWS agents, ensuring the reliability of the test infrastructure.

  • Lead and Execute QA: Act as the quality cornerstone for a feature team, leading test planning for complex features and personally executing tests in high-risk areas, including formal verification.

  • Mentor and Lead by Example: Mentor Middle and Junior engineers through detailed code reviews and architectural guidance, while remaining hands-on in all team testing activities.

Job Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Mandatory

  • 5-8 years of experience in QA, with a strong portfolio in test automation.

  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience architecting or making significant design contributions to an automation framework.

  • Proven experience creating technical proposals (POCs, ADRs).

  • Solid experience with API and backend test automation

  • Solid experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Solid experience with containerization technologies like Docker.

  • English B2+

Preferred

  • Deep expertise in implementing and scaling Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices.

  • Experience presenting technical concepts to a broad audience.
