Old Dominion Freight Line SVC Manager - Assistant Service Center in Commerce City, Colorado

Assists in managing all supervisory and all other staff and crew to productively handle work load. Responsible for hiring of all supervisory, office and clerical employees, dock, and drivers. On-going processing of claims prevention and training. Approves scheduling of, direction of, and preparing for monthly dock and driver meetings. Accountable for daily monitoring of production, load average, and the overall service and efficiency of shifts
Primary Responsibilities
Staffing to goal to meet volume of work.
Make some sales calls and assist in managing sales team
Provide leadership to location staff
Assist in managing daily operations and insure maximum service center efficiency
Focus on load plans from origin terminals monitoring cause and effect.
Conduct Safety and Claims meetings with staff and verify attendance
Work continually to develop and improve service center staff
Communicating goals, issues, and company news to service center staff
Assist with success in achieving and maintaining goals set by the Company and Regional Vice President
Monitor results of staff and provide feedback and coaching as needed
Track and verify service center maintenance is completed
Job Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience:
5 years of experience as an operations supervisor in the transportation industry
Working knowledge of AS400, Microsoft Office, DYMS and BLU systems
Knowledge of general DOT regulations
Proficiency with AS400, Windows, internal system such as Dock Yard Management Systems and the BLU computer systems
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lead and motivate others
Compensation Range:
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training, skill level, and state/local wage requirements.
($97,764-$122,206)
