Pet Nutrition Shift Manager in Columbus, Ohio

Pay : based on experience between $89- 104K

Shift Schedule:
Monday- Friday 2nd Shift
2nd Shift: 3pm- 1130pm
Description of Role:
The Shift Manager in the Cannery area is a people-focused operations leader responsible for efficiently improving and delivering human safety, operational targets, quality, and conversion costs. They actively engage and develop their team of shift-based associates to drive performance and foster growth.
What are we looking for?
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
3+ years of direct people leadership experience
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with executing continuous improvement initiatives
Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP concepts and plant sanitation procedures
Ability to develop and deploy training strategies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.), internet browsers, and email
Physical Requirements:
Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical degree or certification
Technical knowledge of process, equipment, controls and products in manufacturing
What will be your Key Responsibilities?
Lead team of 23 associates to efficiently convert materials into quality products ensuring safety, security, sanitation, and adherence to design specifications and budgets.
Recommend and implement CI improvements in methods, equipment, systems, safety, product quality and the organization.
Guide teams through Autonomous Maintenance (AM)
People management including hiring, coaching, training and evaluating associate performance and create development plans aligned with career goals.
Assist Production Leads in coordinating materials, staffing, and resources for efficient line operations and changeovers.
Handle additional ad hoc tasks as needed.
