Veritiv Sales Trainee, Packaging in Columbus, Ohio

Job Purpose:

Our Sales Trainee will be responsible for learning Veritiv's full sales lifecycle and supporting the sales team with generating new leads within a designated region or industry. This role will also focus on maintaining customer relationships, increasing revenue from existing accounts and provide specific solutions and quotes. This position requires a competitive and motivated spirit with the drive to solve problems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Generate new leads by researching networking, cold calling, and prospecting.

  • Increase revenue and profitability through the generation of new business and further development of existing accounts.

  • Execute sales initiatives to grow sales and profitability within accounts.

  • Assist clients in establishing sustainable packaging supply chains.

  • Understand complex requirements from customers for preparation of packaging solutions and quotes.

  • Manage customer projects in various industries such as Food, Technology, Healthcare, Automotive, Industrial, etc.

  • Educate clients on the latest innovations within our industry.

  • Work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment to create a positive customer experience that results in repeat business.

  • Additional duties as required.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in new sales/business development.

  • Ability to use and create customer presentations, quotes, proposals, value logs, etc.

  • Ability to create and maintain strong relations with customers.

  • Ability to work independently, successfully manage accounts, work under pressure, and adapt to changes in the work environment is essential.

  • Basic experience of simple office / operational systems.

Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years of related job experience.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently.

  • Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).

Education:

  • High School Diploma Preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • A significant portion of the job responsibilities will require computer work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for long periods of time.

  • The position also requires frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
