Rec Sport Special Events Coordinator

Reporting to the Assistant Director for Scheduling and Events the Special Events Coordinator will lead the special event operations and staff for all aspects of events held in the recreation centers. Serve as evening and weekend professional staff contact person for special events, reservations, customers and clients taking place in recreational sports facilities. Role is responsible for knowing all aspects of event policies and procedures for department. Ensures all event groups follow policies and procedures. Participates in event planning and consultation with student organizations and all other event client groups including catering, facility operations, to accomplish event objectives and clarify policies; works with external vendors and services to arrange equipment, provides special event coverage, liaison between outside vendors, caterers, and clients. Use knowledge and experience to influence others in the event planning process to ensure a successful event and solve routine problems. Coordinates off-site equipment rentals. Responsible for maintaining and purchasing equipment to ensure preparedness for special events. Coordinate all purchasing requests, ensuring compliance with university practices. Conducts regular inventory inspections and internal audits. Assists with the creation, review, and updates of process documentation for all aspects of scheduling and special events. Other duties as assigned.

Additional Information:

The pay range for this position is $19.28-$24.03.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
