The Project Manager partners with the College of Medicine (COM)’s Director of Project Management and Initiatives to conceptualize and oversee complex projects within the Dean’s Office and other college administration mission areas. Assumes responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of project deliverables. Manages obligations including time, program budget if applicable, and scope of work. Effectively leads and manages cross-functional/interdepartmental team member activities to ensure that assigned deliverables are met and that products and services provided are of high quality and delivered on time. Is responsible for using independent, consistent and fair judgement in exercising authority. Develops and monitors the implementation of work plans including managing the associated activities of various stakeholders. Prepares reports and presents findings both in writing and orally to various stakeholders. Establishes and nurtures constructive working relationships with key project stakeholders and communicates the status of project improvement opportunities, drive continuous improvement projects and operational efficiency. Represents the senior project manager in internal and external meetings as assigned. Specific project management scope of responsibilities includes but is not limited to: Dean’s Office programs, committee support, and various program support for the Office of Research and Office of Education.
Minimum and Desired Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required.
Desired: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education & experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred; experience with program management and development required; demonstrated organizational skills; demonstrated project management technical skills. Requires successful completion of a background check; Selected candidate may be requested to complete the pre-employment screenings, including a physical and a drug screen.

Duty Description
60%: Dean’s Office Project Management Support: Supports the day-to-day operations of meetings, projects and events within the Dean’s Office and College of Medicine Administration. Completes tasks as assigned, including coordination of project schedules; gathering project requirements and specifications; creating and maintaining project documentation; submission of project expenses; and managing project-related travel. Provides meeting support through agenda tracking and creation, taking meeting minutes, and providing meeting support.
30% : Partnership Project Management Support : Provides administrative support to other key mission areas supported by the dean’s office including, but not limited to the education and research offices.
10% : Other duties as assigned.
