Wells Fargo Lead Network Automation Engineer in COLUMBUS, Ohio
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Network Automation Engineer with a strong focus on authoritative network services platforms , including DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management (DDI), and enterprise timing services . This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Python‑ and Ansible‑based automation that manages the lifecycle, consistency, and reliability of DDI platforms and timing appliances (e.g., NTP/PTP systems) .
The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in network or infrastructure services and applies that experience to building API‑driven, automation‑first solutions that govern platform behavior, enforce standards, reduce manual operational effort, and improve service reliability at enterprise scale. This role focuses on platform and service management , rather than day‑to‑day record administration or ad‑hoc configuration changes.
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain Python and Ansible-based automation to operate and manage authoritative network services platforms , including DDI and enterprise timing systems
Build and manage Ansible roles and workflows that automate platform behavior through APIs , enforcing standards and reducing manual operational touchpoints
Develop Python automation to support platform‑level workflows , including service state validation, health checks, pre‑change and post‑change verification, reporting, and telemetry collection
Integrate platform automation with version control and CI/CD pipelines to support testing, controlled change execution, and governed rollouts
Produce clear documentation for platform automation workflows , including inputs, expected outcomes, guardrails, failure handling, and operational runbooks
Create automation to support DDI and timing service lifecycle management , including pre‑validation, staged deployments, post‑change verification, and rollback signaling
Develop compliance and audit‑support tooling to improve visibility into platform configuration, service state, and policy enforcement
Use automation and tooling to support diagnostics, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency for authoritative network services platforms
Lead the design and execution of complex technical initiatives related to enterprise‑scale network services and timing infrastructure
Collaborate with peer engineering teams, security partners, and stakeholders to align platform automation with enterprise controls and operational requirements
Identify gaps in platform operations and governance and recommend automation‑driven improvements to improve reliability and service levels
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Strong experience developing Python‑based automation for network services or infrastructure platforms
Hands‑on experience building and maintaining Ansible roles and workflow‑oriented automation
Experience applying Infrastructure as Code principles to manage platform state, service behavior, and policy in a controlled and repeatable manner
Ability to develop automation for state validation, compliance checks, auditing, and operational reporting
Proficiency writing reusable, maintainable Python code , including structured logging, error handling, and defensive automation patterns
Experience integrating automation with version control systems, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with collecting and analyzing platform metrics, service telemetry, and logs to support operational insights and reliability improvements
Exposure to DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management, or enterprise timing platforms (e.g., BlueCat, Infoblox, Spectracom , or equivalent) is beneficial but not required
Job Expectations:
Develop and maintain Python- and Ansible-based automation supporting platform‑level network services and timing operations
Ensure automation aligns with established network services standards, policies, and operational guardrails
Support network operations by automating common DDI and timing platform runbooks, lifecycle tasks, and service workflows
Collaborate with network, infrastructure, and security teams to align platform automation with enterprise controls and processes
Continuously improve automation based on operational feedback, incidents, and evolving service requirements
Onsite work required 3x weekly

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$119,000.00 - $187,000.00
