Job Description
A customer in the Columbus, OH area is hiring for a Self‑Perform Operations (SPO) Project Manager to lead and oversee self‑perform construction projects from pursuit through closeout. This individual will be responsible for staffing, planning, scheduling, budgeting, safety, quality, and risk management while developing high‑performing teams and strong client relationships. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, financial acumen, and experience managing field operations in a fast‑paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage self‑perform operations projects, including planning, staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management
Build and develop high‑performing teams through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback
Manage project financials, productivity tracking, QA/QC, and safety programs
Oversee field operations, engineering processes, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular project updates to leadership

Skills and Requirements
Degree in construction, engineering, or similar or equivalent experience
8+ years working in construction with self‑perform work
Experience managing budget, schedule, and costs
Able to read and understand contracts and drawings
Experience leading crews and field teams Previous people management experience
Union construction experience
Experience with safety, quality, and productivity tracking
Exposure to contract negotiations and risk
Comfortable using construction software and MS Office
