WM Instrument and Measurement Technical Manager- Engine Plant in Columbus, Ohio
I. Job Summary
Provide technical and mechanical support to WM's Landfill Gas-to-Energy Plants through Gas Analyzer and IT hardware (computer) support to ensure compliance with various measurement devices and support equipment.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The individual must have the ability to work independently without direct supervision. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to supervise the work efforts of others and perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned and vary by location.
Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions and environmental compliance
Responsible for administering Waste Management Renewable Energy (WMRE) operations policies
Assists the plant manager with managing and maintaining compliance equipment integrity and, on occasion, supporting plant operations
Respond to various scheduled and unscheduled support requests from WMRE sites on a 24X7 basis
Remain trained and qualified to perform work and/or calibrations of compliance equipment
Communicates clearly with various team members, including providing suggestions and analysis
Train and support plant personnel on proper operation, maintenance and safety procedures for all various compliance equipment
Interacts with 3rd party vendors/contractors to forecast and/or request parts and technical needs

IV. Qualifications
A. Education and Experience
Education: High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
Experience: Five (5) years of relevant work experience
Must live and work in the US.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
None required.
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
Experience operating WMRE gas to energy facilities and can/have demonstrate(d) experiences through historical quality, performance reviews and support needs
Must be able to travel a minimum 50%-70% with overnight stays
Technically savvy to interact with software, hardware and data measurement / acquisition equipment including disassembly and assembly of critical/sensitive hardware
Must have strong computer skills with high level programming and understanding.
Must have electrical control wiring construction, troubleshooting and repair experience
Having Gas Chromatograph experience in mechanical aptitude, programming, operation and troubleshooting experience is an advantage.
Available for remote access and troubleshooting beyond “normal business hours”
A self-driven independent worker is critical
Experience in commissioning gas to energy facilities is a plus
Communications (verbal and written) skills The expected base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $87,000 - $127,535.This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for bonus. Must live and work in the US.
