Robert Half Desktop Support Technician in Columbus, Ohio
Description
We are looking for a skilled Desktop Support Tech to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of end-user systems and network hardware. You will play a vital part in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing hardware and software solutions while providing excellent customer service to stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, test, and maintain hardware, peripherals, and network devices to ensure optimal performance.
• Develop and manage computer images for end-user accounts to facilitate efficient system setups.
• Identify hardware requirements and coordinate acquisition and delivery processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues both on-site and remotely.
• Collaborate with vendors and third-party support teams to address technical challenges.
• Conduct regular visits to multiple locations to maintain and support systems effectively.
• Provide training to users individually and in group settings on computer functionality and software usage.
• Document hardware installations, repairs, and removals to maintain accurate records.
• Assist in creating long-term strategies and plans for corporate technology needs.
• Serve as backup for the Systems Administrator when required.
Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
• At least five years of experience in end-user service desk support and Information Systems is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in configuring networks and installing applications on PC operating systems.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems including Windows 7, 8, and 10.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic network and system issues effectively.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and meet insurance requirements.
