Job Summary

The Materials Planner is responsible for leading material planning activities to support complex manufacturing operations. This role ensures material availability aligns with production schedules, customer demand, and inventory objectives while proactively identifying risks and driving planning process improvements. The Materials Planner serves as a key liaison between Supply Chain, Production, Purchasing, and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

·         Develop, manage, and optimize material plans to support production schedules, forecasts, and customer demand

·         Analyze and resolve complex material constraints, shortages, and capacity conflicts

·         Lead inventory management strategies to meet service, cost, and working capital targets

·         Partner closely with Purchasing and suppliers to drive on-time delivery, manage lead times, and mitigate supply risks

·         Maintain and continuously improve planning parameters within MRP/ERP systems including safety stock, lot sizing, and replenishment rules

·         Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams as needed

·         Participate in S&OP, production planning, and daily operations meetings, escalating risks and constraints proactively

·         Analyze demand variability, forecast accuracy, and inventory performance metrics and recommend corrective actions

·         Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and phase-in/phase-out planning activities

·         Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on material flow, planning efficiency, and inventory accuracy

·         Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements

Qualifications

·         Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred)

·         5+ years of experience in material planning, production control, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment

·         Advanced working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and manufacturing planning processes

·         Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools

Preferred Qualifications

·         Experience in D365 preferred

·         Experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments

·         Experience supporting S&OP or advanced planning processes
