Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
The role of the Mechanical Assembler is to construct production machines and fixtures from the ground up. Operating within a research and development center, this position involves assembling components which are later utilized in automated production lines at a nearby facility. Each component is substantial in size, measuring 8-10 feet long and 4-5 feet tall, comprising up to 75 parts.
Responsibilities
Build production components and fixtures for automated production lines.
Assist with assembly tasks by tightening bolts and placing parts accurately.
Utilize hand and power tools to complete assemblies.
Work under the guidance of a direct team lead.
Handle sub-assemblies that are simple in nature, despite the complexity of finished components.
Operate forklifts to move components as needed, with provided training.
Essential Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude from manufacturing or personal experience such as working on cars.
Detail-oriented with a good understanding of mechanical assembly.
Proficient in using hand and power tools.
Basic math skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with forklifts is preferred, though not mandatory.
Must have steel or composite-toed shoes.

Work Environment
The work environment consists of a bright and organized facility with a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. The position involves working the first shift from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with occasional overtime starting at 5:00 am, which is rare. Employees receive two 12-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch. Required personal protective equipment includes steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and cut-resistant gloves.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
