Industrial Maintenance Technician | Columbia, SC | Day and Night shift available
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support daily operations in a steel manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on mechanical and electrical work, troubleshooting complex equipment, and keeping production running smoothly. After a successful 90‑day contract period, this position converts to a permanent hire.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation issues.
Support safe and efficient operation of machinery across the facility.
Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status to supervisors.
Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Skills & Experience
Candidates should have hands-on experience with several of the following:
Rollers and conveyor systems
lasers and photoeyes
Water tables
Weld machines and weld sensors
CNC machiner
Proximity switches
480V motors
Forklift and overhead crane maintenance
Shift Options
Monday - Thursday
Days: 5:00am - 5:00pm
Nights: 5:00pm - 5:00am
Friday :
Days: 5:00am - 1:00pm
Nights: 1:00pm - 9:00pm
Saturday (during high production periods)
Days: 5:00am - 1:00pm
Nights: 1:00pm - 9:00pm
Work Environment
Work in a dynamic production floor setting, utilizing cutting-edge technology and equipment to contribute to high-quality outputs.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, SC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $25.00/hr.
