Amergis Correctional Registered Nurse (RN) in Columbia, South Carolina
Location: Columbus, SC
Shifts: Days (6:00 AM – 7:00 PM) or Nights (6:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks (with extension options)
Position Overview
The Correctional Registered Nurse (RN) works collaboratively with healthcare professionals, correctional officers, and administrative staff to promote the health and well-being of the incarcerated population. This role requires adaptability and clinical expertise to provide both routine and emergency nursing care within a correctional facility environment.
The RN utilizes professional nursing judgment while navigating the unique challenges and limitations of correctional healthcare to deliver safe, effective, and ethical patient care.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care, including routine assessments and emergency interventions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
Administer medications and treatments per protocol
Monitor, document, and evaluate patient health status
Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
Uphold safety, security, and infection control standards within the facility
Minimum Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience (correctional experience preferred)
Current CPR certification (if applicable)
TB screening (questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable)
Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay: $44.82/hour
Travel Rate: $20/hour
Weekly Stipends:
Meals: $300/week
Housing: $600/week
Total Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,620/week
