Job Title: Solar Laborer
Pay: $22-25/hr based on experience

Job Description
This temporary solar laborer role supports a commercial rooftop solar project involving the decommissioning and reinstallation of solar panels on a flat roof. You will work primarily on an outdoor construction site, assisting with the safe removal and reinstallation of solar equipment and materials over a 6–8 week period. The schedule follows a full-time workweek with long shifts and may include opportunities to travel to additional project sites.
Responsibilities
Assist with phase 1 decommissioning of rooftop solar panels, including safely removing panels, racking, and related components from a commercial roof.
Support phase 2 reinstallation of solar panels and associated equipment, ensuring components are placed and secured according to project specifications and safety standards.
Perform general construction and labor tasks on a commercial rooftop, including material handling, site cleanup, and basic support for electrical and solar installation crews.
Follow all site safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment, including steel toe boots, hard hat, safety goggles, gloves, and high-visibility vest.
Work comfortably and safely at heights on flat roofs while maintaining awareness of surroundings and potential hazards.
Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to complete daily tasks efficiently within the scheduled 10-hour shifts.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition throughout the project.
Be open to potential travel to additional project locations, such as other commercial solar sites in different cities, as needed by the project team.
Essential Skills
Experience in solar, electrical, or construction work, preferably in commercial solar environments.
Ability to perform rooftop solar tasks, including rooftop installation and decommissioning work.
Comfort working at heights on flat roofs and following strict safety protocols.
Capability to work full 10-hour shifts and complete physically demanding labor in an outdoor environment.
Reliability in adhering to a Monday–Friday work schedule and meeting project timelines.
Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with other laborers and technical staff.
Commitment to wearing required PPE, including steel toe boots, hard hat, safety goggles, gloves, and high-visibility vest.

Work Environment
The role takes place outdoors on commercial flat rooftops and is weather dependent, so work conditions can vary with the elements. The typical schedule runs Monday through Friday, generally from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 40-hour workweek often structured as four 10-hour shifts. You will work in a construction setting that involves solar equipment, basic electrical components, and standard construction tools. Safety is a core focus, and you must wear steel toe boots and other required personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety goggles, gloves, and a high-visibility vest. The environment is physically demanding, requires comfort with heights, and involves close collaboration with a crew on an active job site, with potential travel to additional project locations as needed.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
