Join our team as a Pharmacy Floor Technician, where you will play a critical role in the preparation of prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist. This position requires attention to detail and adherence to pharmacy standards.
Responsibilities
Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist.
Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle or dispose of them according to procedures.
Prepack frequently ordered medications, label, and store them as needed during low volume times.
Manually package materials and products.
Pull and pick medications from shelving and other storage areas, including prepack racks.
Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy checks.
Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication or product that does not scan properly.
Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies as needed.
Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
Be available for overtime, holidays, and weekends as required and/or expected.
Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Possession and maintenance of a Clear and Active Pharmacy Technician License issued by the MD Board of Pharmacy
Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred
Work Environment
The role is based in a pharmacy setting. You may need to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the day, and may be required to work extended hours. The position involves finger dexterity to operate office equipment and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Visual acuity is necessary to see and read fine print, and specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. You must be able to hear normal voice sounds.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
