Job Title: Engineering Administrator
Job Description
The Engineering Administrator is responsible for the administration, accuracy, and continuous improvement of the organization's overall systems, data, and reporting. This role ensures that information is captured, maintained, and analyzed accurately to support engineering decisions, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. The position serves as the primary system and data subject matter expert for product tracking tools, interfaces with ERP/PLM systems, and acts as a critical liaison between Engineering, Warranty, Quality, Finance, and Customer Support teams.
Responsibilities
Administer and maintain department tracking systems, databases, and related tools.
Ensure accurate creation, configuration, and lifecycle management of warranty cases, repair records, and return material authorizations (RMAs).
Manage user access, permissions, and system configuration in accordance with internal controls.
Administer and maintain CDLS spares inventories for APC and VCS, including repairable and non-repairable items.
Track initial lay-in of spares, replenishment quantities, and failure-driven consumption trends.
Ensure spares holdings align with repair vs. replace logic and program-specific CDLS rules.
Track, manage, and maintain accountability of all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE).
Ensure proper documentation, handling, and compliance with contractual requirements.
Coordinate with internal teams for allocation, returns, and audits of GFE assets.
Develop and deliver recurring and ad-hoc reports, including warranty trends, failure modes, turnaround time (TAT), and cost of warranty and repair.
Support management and engineering decision-making through data analysis and visualization.
Partner with Engineering to provide accurate data for failure analysis and RCCA activities, supporting corrective action and improvement initiatives.
Support Quality Assurance by ensuring documentation and traceability required for audits and compliance.
Collaborate with Finance to track warranty costs, support accruals, and cost analysis.
Ensure warranty data aligns with configuration management and product lifecycle records.
Essential Skills
Experience with ERP and PLM systems.
Proficiency in engineering documentation and configuration management.
Knowledge of Return Materials Authorization (RMA) processes.
Strong skills in data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel (advanced functions) and Power BI.
Understanding of warranty workflows and repair lifecycle processes.
Ability to interpret technical and operational data and present findings clearly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
2-4 years of experience in warranty or repair operations, systems administration, business systems support, or operations/quality/engineering support environments.
Experience with warranty management systems and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Access, or similar).
Experience supporting cross-functional teams in a regulated or high-reliability environment is preferred.
Work Environment
The role is based in an engineering/lab environment in Columbia, MD. The team consists of approximately 5-6 members, supporting the entire operation. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with most resources starting at 7:30 am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.66 - $38.00/hr.
