Maxim Healthcare Centralized Services Specialist I in Columbia, Maryland
Centralized Services Specialist
Location - Remote with office meeting once per quarter
Pay: $21 hourly with $4K yearly bonus potential paid quarterly
The Centralized Service Specialist I reviews and processes Insurance Verification Forms, Physician Licensure requests, Authorizations and Orders and provides customer support to the Billing Teams and offices
.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accurately enters and/or processes:
Authorizations within 24 hours of Vision upload and before close of business on Tuesday for uploads that impact payroll
Processes 485/Supplemental Orders within 48 hours of Vision upload
Processes F&D within 48 hours and on Tuesday process any that would potentially impact payroll
Addresses and/or resolves authorization/order tickets with 24 hours of submission
Completes Insurance Verification forms within 24 hours of submission
Assists/obtains all authorizations (initial and re-authorizations) for designated offices
Re-authorizations should be obtained prior to the next authorization period
Runs monthly eligibility for identified payers
Works bill holds for: Authorizations and 485/Supplemental Orders
Striving for no revenue to be on-hold for lack of authorization for purposes of cash flow and minimizing risk
Works new Zero Bills by 12pm Thursdays and outstanding Zero Bills timely
Continuously adds/updates information on payer site
Enters physician information into Vision within 24 hours and imports new physicians into Echo monthly
Provides excellent customer service for our office partners, patients, and payers
Follows all quality processes for department to avoid preventable write-offs
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in medical billing or authorizations preferred
Quick and accurate alpha/numeric data entry skills
Must possess the following core competencies:

Ability to learn on the fly
Excellent work ethic and commitment to job responsibilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel and Web enabled applications
Must present a positive image that reflects well on the organization
