American Pest Accounts Receivable & Billing Manager in Columbia, Maryland

American Pest is looking for an Accounts Receivable & Billing Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of billing and collections while taking ownership of how quickly and accurately revenue turns into cash.

This isn't a role where you simply monitor activity. You will set expectations, enhance processes, and ensure the team prioritizes the right tasks. You'll work closely with accounting, operations, and customer service to resolve issues, reduce aging, and keep things moving.     What You'll Do... As the Accounts Receivable & Billing Manager with American Pest, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of billing, collections, and accounts receivable, ensuring work is accurate, timely, and running as expected. You'll monitor aging and outstanding balances, step in on complex issues, and keep the team focused on the right priorities to maintain steady cash flow. You'll also review reports and dig into the data to understand performance, identify risks, and improve how the department operates. Additionally, you'll partner with accounting, operations, and customer service to resolve issues and keep things moving from invoicing through payment. Finally, you'll lead and develop your team by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and holding people accountable to consistent standards.

    Who You Are... So, what does it take to be a successful AR & Billing Manager at American Pest? For starters, you'll have 3+ years of experience as an Accounts Receivable Manager or Lead. You'll also have...

  • 2- or 4-year college degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)

  • A strong understanding of accounting principles and financial practices

  • A strong understanding and functional application of MS Office Suite

  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel (multi-level sorting/filtering, working with pivot tables)

  • The ability to effectively manage your time, prioritize multiple tasks, and maximize performance while remaining customer-focused

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • The ability to quickly learn multiple web-based software programs necessary to the essential job functions and cross-department communications

  • Strong data entry skills and a high level of accuracy

  • The ability to be a positive, upbeat team player

  • Concern for helping people and an aptitude for making people feel important and valued

  • The ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English

  • Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
