FH Stoltze Land and Lumber Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Serviceman in Columbia Falls, Montana
Job Type: Full-TimePay: Hourly (DOE)Shift: Day - Mon - Friday 8hrs or 4 10hr shiftsF.H. Stoltze is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our maintenance team to maintain and repair equipment supporting a busy sawmill operation. This position is ideal for a mechanic who takes pride in diagnosing problems, keeping machines running, ability to work independently, and can take directions without direct supervision.Our equipment includes forklifts, loaders, light trucks, and material handling equipment used in a lumber and sawmill environment.This is a steady, long-term position with consistent work and a team that values skilled mechanics.What You’ll Work On•Forklifts (various capacities)•Wheel loaders•Diesel/Gas engines•Hydraulic systems•Electrical and control systems•Light trucksResponsibilities•Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues•Perform preventative maintenance and inspections•Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime•Work closely with operations to keep equipment running efficiently•Maintain organized tools and maintenance recordsWhat We’re Looking For•3+ years of mechanical experience with heavy equipment, forklifts, or diesel equipment•Strong troubleshooting ability•Experience with hydraulics and diesel systems•Able to provide own tooling to perform job duties•Welding/fabrication skills are a plus•Valid driver’s license•Able to work on a variety of rolling stock equipmentPreferred Experience•Sawmill or logging equipment mechanical experience•CAT, Wagner, John Deere, Hyster, or similar equipment•Industrial or mill maintenanceIf you're a skilled mechanic who wants steady work and a place where your experience is valued, we’d like to talk with you.
