Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Trustees. HOURS: 8 hours/day, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday and follows school calendar. Scheduled to work 207 days a school year.POSITION CLOSES: 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026REPORTS TO: Building PrincipalESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Performs a wide variety of clerical and secretarial work, including typing, proofreading, filing, and checking and recording information.Serves as receptionist and gives information or directs visitors to proper office.Received, sorts and distributes mail and office correspondence.Screens incoming correspondence routed to supervisor.Arranges correspondence for supervisor’s personal reply in order of priority, with appropriate background material attached for reference.Types routine memoranda and correspondence from general instructions.Types reports, records, and other materials.Takes and transcribes dictation for letters, memos, and reports.Attends meetings and conferences as requested.Sorts, indexes, and files materials alphabetically, numerically, and by other predetermined categories.Compiles information and prepares reports.May prepare material for Board agenda.Dictates, collates, and assembles materials for distribution.Only minimum duties are listed. DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma; and any combination of training and/or experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities.Highly proficient in general office skills: word processing, spread sheets and other software programs including by not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and accounting software.Correct English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, etc.Skill in critical thinking, problem analysis and resolution.Ability to follow directions.Skill, dedication, and aptitude for working with students.Perform a variety of clerical and secretarial work with accuracy and speed.Proficiently operate standard office equipment, including computer terminal.Maintain records and prepare reports, as required.Compose correspondence in response to routine inquiries.Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.Maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of a workday.Ability to handle stressful situations.Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with staff.Ability to work with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.Ability to maintain confidentiality of employment.Ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities.Ability to maintain regular and acceptable attendance levels.EQUIPMENT USED:A variety of electronic and technology devices, copiers, calculators, personal computers, telephone/voicemail, fax.WORK ENVIRONMENT:While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside.
