Auria (Boecore LLC) Space Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Auria is looking to hire a Space Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer. This role is HYBRID in Colorado Springs, CO.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:

Develop New Space Model Capabilities:Create statistical and computation models, to a practical level of detail, to represent physical phenomenon that impacts objects in space and the interface between objects on the ground and in space.

Adapt and Integrate Existing Space Model Capabilities:Identify space model capabilities, adapt or combine them in novel ways to meet requirements, and integrate them into the training environment.

Decompose and Incorporate Various Messaging Formats Across the Training Environment:Learn the message formats and APIs involved, understand their constraints, and collaborate closely with other engineers as necessary to leverage them to efficiently communicate between models.

Collaborate Across the Training Environment:Work closely with diverse stakeholders, including domain subject matter experts, engineers, program managers, and other contractors, to ensure seamless integration and successful delivery of space model capabilities to the training environment.

Test and Evaluation of Models:Conduct rigorous testing and evaluation of models using proven methodologies to ensure they meet requirements.

WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

At least 5 years of experience in the development, testing, and integration of algorithms and models (statistical or physical) for use in a simulated, virtual environment

Experience with modeling and simulation tools (e.g., Matlab/Simulink, AFSIM), message formats (HLA, DIS, TENA), programing languages (Python, C++, C#, R), and libraries.

Experience modeling behaviors in the space domain, including relating to: Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Radio Frequency (RF) propagation; Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) constellations; satellites; radar; and cyber effects.

A proven track record of successfully integrating space model capabilities

Excellent planning/problem decomposition, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

A strong background working on a team with other engineers of varying roles and levels.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including DoD personnel.

Experience working with stakeholders on an Agile Scrum team

Eligibility and willingness to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance.

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:

Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.

Experience with Digital Engineering and using digital models and data to design, build, test, and operate complex behaviors.

Domain-specific knowledge relevant to Live, Virtual, and Constructive training environments.

Domain-specific knowledge relevant to Space and Missile Defense (e.g., satellite systems, missile tracking, command and control).

Experience working within the DoD.

PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $121,805 - $175,399
