TEKsystems Software Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado

TRAVEL: Yes 10 of the Time BILL RATE MAX: Within the rate card.
You will support an Internal Research & Development effort focused on building advanced software capabilities and algorithms. The work involves developing new C-based applications, implementing mathematically and physics‑intensive solutions, and collaborating closely with engineers to translate system requirements into functional software. Responsibilities also include reviewing requirements and supporting test case development.
Key Responsibilities
Develop novel software applications in C
Implement complex, math‑ and physics‑heavy algorithms
Collaborate in a closed, in‑person engineering environment
Review requirements and contribute to test planning
Work within Unix/Linux systems and scripting environments
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field + 5 yrs experience (or Master’s + 3 yrs, or PhD + 1 yr)
Active, in-scope Secret clearance
Strong experience developing software in C
Experience with MATLAB and/or Python
Unix/Linux OS experience
Ability to rapidly learn new technical concepts
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Linux scripting experience
Experience with automated requirements testing
Background in battle management or fire control systems
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with BDD tools like Gherkin or Cucumber
Experience with static/dynamic code analysis (e.g., Coverity, Fortify, SonarQube)
Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Atlassian suite)
Strong foundation in math and physics; advanced degrees in these fields are a plus

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $100.00/hr.
